FIIs were net buyers in the cash segment to the tune of Rs. 533 crores. In index futures front, they sold worth Rs 319 crores with fall in open interest indicating long unwinding in yesterday’s session.
Although both the indices managed to close on a positive note, we could hardly see any fresh open interest addition. In Nifty options front, we saw decent unwinding in ATM and 16050 call strikes. On the other side, 15700-15800 puts added meaningful positions’s; especially, 15800 put which added more than 36000 contract which resulted base shifting higher now to 15800-15850. Considering the recovery seen in latter half and the recent outperformace seen in banking index, we expect Nifty surpassing the magical figure of 16000 any time soon. Traders are advised buying ATM call strikes for today’s weekly expiry.
